Hollersbach is a small, often-overlooked village between Bramberg and Mittersill — and confidently calls itself "herb and art village". The Hollersbach herb garden with its walk-through ecological footprint (a 70-metre hedge maze shaped like a foot) is a quirky half-day outing for families and the village's calling card.
From the village the Panoramabahn Kitzbüheler Alpen runs from the Hollersbach base station directly up to Resterhöhe / Pass Thurn — the southern entrance to the KitzSki area, repeatedly named "World's Best Ski Resort". Hollersbach is therefore one of the few Pinzgau villages with direct lift access to KitzSki.
Vacation rentals here are moderately priced, the atmosphere is family-run. A good fit for skiers who want KitzSki without paying Kitzbühel prices for the bed.
Hollersbach in winter is the quietest spot in the middle Pinzgau — and at the same time the base station of the Panoramabahn Kitzbüheler Alpen. From here you connect directly to the KitzSki ski area, one of Austria's largest, without needing a car.
People looking for a vacation rental in Hollersbach in winter usually come for one of these activities: skiing at KitzSki (via the Panoramabahn, no car needed), snowshoe hiking along the quiet Hollersbach valley toward the national park, ski touring in the Kitzbüheler Alpen, or cross-country skiing on the trails along the Salzach river.
Our recommendation: Hollersbach fits if you want to reach KitzSki without a car while still staying in a quiet village. Late winter (February/March) offers the best balance of snow reliability and longer days here too.
